Our first assignment was to animate an already modeled turret, and to make the animation about 150-300 frames or 5 to 10 seconds. Originally for my turret, I just wanted to have it bounce, and turn a couple of times, but realized that those set of motions were not only boring, but only gave me about a two second animation. I also wanted to add more animation just to give the turret character and to give it more things to do. I added a sort of happy bounce to the turret, and more spinning, and just a bit of hopping for its movements. I also kept it's weight in mind, as a machine should move a bit jerkily, and at least have slower movements than something more organic. Although I still had a bit of trouble at the end with making its movements more fluid, and animating it's hyper jumping set. Though this animation was really fun, and I enjoy doing more in the future this semester.
